By default, the module is configured with "Strict mode NO" (back-end). This allows users to have multiple log-ins from the same work station. Set the module to "Strict mode YES" and test as follows:
- Log into the front-end.
- Completely close your browser without logging off.
- Re-open browser and log-in again.
You should now see the Only Once! notification.

This is exactly what the Only Once! plug-in does. If a user attempts a multiple log-in while it is not allowed, a notification will be displayed. Try the freeware edition to see how it works.
The Business edition allows you to have the denied user redirected to an article or URL.

If you can't see the Only Once! notification message, there may be something wrong with your website's template. The Only Once! notification is of the same TYPE as when you log in with a wrong or non-existing username/password combination.

If you don't see the Only Once! message, try the following:
- Log into your website with some wrong username/password, for example xxxx/xxxx.
- You should see a message saying that your username/password are wrong.
- If you don't see such message: the problem is most likely in your website's template. The template should contain the following code: <jdoc:include type="message" />

Hi! your only once! login module looks like exactly what ive been searching for for some time. Was just wondering if there is any way to redirect or somehow notify the user that their login failed due to the user already being logged in.
