Basic setup instructions are here. These are also in the documentation that comes with the download package.
Please note that the plug-in must now be installed as a package. The package will install three separate plug-ins.

IMPORTANT NOTE WHEN USING OTHER 3RD PARTY PLUG-INS AND OTHER EXTENSIONS
Authentication and user plug-ins can be critical. The use of additional 3rd party (i.e. additional to a standard Joomla! install) authentication and user plug-ins, templates or other extensions may turn the Login One! software partly or totally ineffective, meaning that it will not - or only partly - perform the tasks for which it has been designed. 3rd Party templates may not display the plug-in notifications properly. In order to avoid disappointment, we recommend that you always test the Freeware Edition before purchasing a commercial edition.
The Premium Edition does not support user log-in by email address.
You may want to try the free standard edition first. The standard edition is very basic and not configurable.
I don't go for the full 5 stars because no product is perfect. But this comes close. It does a terrific job and when there is a Joomla update (these are frequent with J3), the plugin update is published very quickly.Harold Knewstubb
I have been stupid and feel now embarrassed. I have set up a semi-professional media subscription business some year ago and was looking for a way to avoid sharing of login users and passwords. Someone told me about the Login One plugin and I tried the free version. It was exactly doing what it had promised. My little business was running OK, no big numbers yet, and I felt the need to have more config flexibility with the plugin. Wanted to go for the Premium Ed but was held back by the USD 10 price tag. That's where it starts to be embarrassing for me... I didn't want to spend a lousy USD 10 at start and kept myself away from the config options the premium ed offered. In hindsight, I should have gone for the business ed straight away, which I finally did. The bus ed is the ultimate and I did not regret purchasing it one single day. They gave me a full refund of the premium ed, because after getting the premium, I decided quickly to purchase the business version. Thank you and congrats Innato for such a splendid product! This extensive review is my thank you for being so helpful.Yam Ho Kwang
If your joomla website is not professionally used but nevertheless you don't want your subscribers to share their passwords, this plugin is for you. I followed their advice to test the freeware version first, but this did not provide all options that I was looking for. When the freeware version went OK, I decided to buy the Premium. It has not let me down, although I am tempted to switch to the business version.Lars Nispen
