An authentication plug-in that prevents multiple log-ins by the same user credentials, for both frontend and backend. A useful tool for websites that share or exchange potentially sensitive information amongst their registered users.
User needs to either sign off the first session, or wait until the first session has expired.
Super Users can always have multiple log-ins.
The business edition comes with many additional options:
- Instead of denying access, user accounts can be disabled (blocked);
- Specific user groups and user IDs can be allowed or denied multiple log-ins;
- ID/IP combinations can be allowed/denied multiple log-ins;
- The maximum number of simultaneuous log-ins for 'allowed users' can be configured;
- How to handle an attempted multiple login can be configured: display a warning message, redirect to an article, or redirect to a web page.

The Business Edition is a 'must' for professional websites, because it delivers so much flexibility.
If you do not need all the features of the Business Edition, you could consider the Premium Edition.
Install or upgrade via Joomla! backend.
System requirements:
- Joomla! 3.x only. Joomla! 3.8.4 or later (Please note that the package will not install on an earlier Joomla! version). Please contact us if your Joomla! is before 3.8.4.
- PHP 5.3.10 or higher or PHP 7, PHP 8;
- If you use this plug-in in combination with the EUL - Easy User Login plug-in (by Viktor Vogel), you must have Joomla! 3.9.0 or later.
- Standard Joomla! log-in form enabled and in use as the log-in gate;
- Browser has cookies enabled.

Please note that the plug-in must now be installed as a package. The package will install three separate plug-ins.

IMPORTANT NOTE WHEN USING OTHER 3RD PARTY PLUG-INS AND OTHER EXTENSIONS
Authentication and user plug-ins can be critical. The use of additional 3rd party (i.e. additional to a standard Joomla! install) authentication and user plug-ins, templates or other extensions may turn the Login One! software partly or totally ineffective, meaning that it will not - or only partly - perform the tasks for which it has been designed. 3rd Party templates may not display the plug-in notifications properly. In order to avoid disappointment, we recommend that you always test the Freeware Edition before purchasing a commercial edition.

You may want to try the free standard edition first. The standard edition is very basic and not configurable.

I have been looking for an extension that prevents double logins by the same user and this is the only decent one that I could find. I first bought the Premium edition but very soon I wanted the Business edition because it has all the options that I need. They refunded my Premium order and now I am using the Business version. It is doing a super job. Thank you.
A very small minus is that the configuration is not always easy to understand, but in the end the documentation tells you how. I am very happy with this excellent plugin!

This plugin is a real gem. I totally recommend. If you really want to prevent sharing of login credentials between users, then go for this plugin and for its Business Edition and nothing less. It's fully worthwhile the investment. It has so many options and the support is great.Rocco Xavier
